APPLE CIDER is pressed fresh every week at Hugus Fruit Farm in the state inspected cider press room. We usually begin in early September and press every week as long as we have apples, generally through January.
Our cider is treated with ultraviolet light, one of only two current FDA approved processes for cider making. Unlike heat pasteurization, the UV process maintains the nutrition and fresh flavor of cider.
Hugus Fruit Farm CIDER may be purchased in the following ways:
Retail at Hugus Fruit Farm by the gallon, half-gallon, or quart
Wholesale at Hugus Fruit Farm, 20-gallon minimum purchase
Retail at various other Ohio locations (see Stores page)
Apple cider from Hugus Fruit Farm is a fresh fruit juice and MUST BE KEPT REFRIGERATED!
CUSTOM CIDER PRESSING
Hugus Fruit Farm will custom press apples for other commercial and backyard apple growers, BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. Call 740-536-9590 for an appointment. We stongly suggest a minimum of 10 bushels, otherwise the minimum pressing fee will be applied. Customers should plan to bring your clean apples and a clean cap/hat, unload your apples, participate by jugging your cider, load your jugs, pay your bill and then enjoy your cider. Our equipment generally presses 4 gallons for every bushel of apples.
